Privacy policy.

1. Who is responsible?
Alan Roy Miller (Roy Miller), Visual Setup Studio
Gabelsbergerstraße 12, 5020 Salzburg, Austria
roy@visualsetup.studio · +43 676 7420 618
The controller determines the purposes and means of processing personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Austrian data protection law.
2. Website hosting and technical data
The published website is configured for hosting by Netlify, Inc. Visiting the site transmits technical data such as your IP address, browser, requested page, timestamp, and referrer to the hosting provider. This is necessary to deliver the site and maintain its security.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in a stable and secure website. Technical data is retained according to the hosting provider's configured retention periods and any applicable legal requirements. See Netlify's privacy policy.
3. Project enquiries
The quote form collects your name, email, business, location, selected services, timing, and message. The form is processed through Netlify Forms on the published Netlify site. We use these details to assess and respond to your request, not to subscribe you to marketing.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps before a contract, and Art. 6(1)(f) for responding to other correspondence. Enquiry data is kept only as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up. Records relating to a business transaction may be kept for the legally required period, including Austrian accounting obligations of up to seven years.
Please do not include sensitive personal information or confidential third-party data in the form.
4. Email, phone, and WhatsApp
Information you send by email or phone is used to handle your request on the same legal bases described above. WhatsApp is an optional external contact channel, operated by WhatsApp Ireland Limited. Its own data practices apply when you choose to use it. See WhatsApp's privacy policy. You can always use email instead.
5. Optional analytics and cookie preferences
Only if you choose Allow analytics, we load Microsoft Clarity, a service from Microsoft. It provides heatmaps and session recordings to help us understand page visits, clicks, scrolling and technical/device information and improve this website. Usage data is transmitted to Microsoft.
Clarity is not loaded before you opt in or after you decline. We send analytics consent through Microsoft's Consent API v2 and keep advertising storage denied. The contact form content is masked. Clarity can use analytics identifiers, including the first-party cookies _clck and _clsk, to link page views and visits.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, for access to or storage on your device, your consent under section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021). You may withdraw consent at any time using Cookie settings in the footer or on this page. Withdrawal stops Clarity, removes its first-party cookies on this site and reloads the page. It does not affect earlier lawful processing.
We remember your choice and its date in this browser's local storage under visual-setup-consent for 180 days, whether you accept or decline. This essential preference is used only to respect your choice. Expired or invalid preferences are discarded on your next visit. If storage is blocked, analytics stays off and the site displays a notice. Clearing site data resets the choice.
Clarity's retention periods and Microsoft's data practices are described in Microsoft Clarity's documentation and Microsoft's privacy statement.
Fonts, images and the studio film remain self-hosted. We do not load advertising pixels or embedded maps. Cookies set on Microsoft's domains cannot be deleted by this website; you can manage them in your browser.
6. External websites and social channels
Links to Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Maps, client websites, and WhatsApp open external services only when you follow them. Those services may process personal data and use cookies under their own policies.
The projects page also offers optional Instagram reels, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Still previews are hosted on this website. No connection to Instagram is made until you choose Load reel. This connects your browser to Instagram, transmitting your IP address and technical data; Instagram may use cookies and associate the visit with your account if you are logged in. Legal basis: your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 165(3) TKG 2021. This choice is separate from analytics consent, applies to one reel, and is not stored. Choose Unload reel or leave the page to remove the embed and stop further requests from it. This does not undo data already sent or remove Instagram cookies; manage those in your browser.
7. International transfers
Netlify, Microsoft Clarity when enabled, and optional external services may process data outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Where required, transfers must use a valid GDPR mechanism, such as an applicable adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses. Provider-specific information is available in the linked privacy policies.
8. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, and portability of your personal data. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Contact roy@visualsetup.studio to exercise your rights. Requests are normally answered within one month, subject to the GDPR's permitted extensions.
9. Complaints
You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the Austrian Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria. Visit dsb.gv.at or email dsb@dsb.gv.at.
10. Changes
This policy will be updated if the site's processing changes. The date above indicates the latest revision.
